Volunteering

People involved with GDQ either through volunteering or paid employment share the same mindset “It’s more than our job, it’s our passion”.

It’s easy to see why.  No matter where you are, how you help, what job you do, you can see that your contribution makes a difference to the life of a blind or vision impaired Queenslander.

All services, including Guide Dogs, are provided to clients free of charge and it’s volunteers that make this possible.

We need people from all walks of life. Key roles are in fundraising and events, our annual Doorknock Appeal, Bingo Operations, our Op Shops in Bundaberg, our offices, warehouse activities, outdoors in our gardens and grounds; and general duties in head office and across the state.

Our volunteers include:

  • Animal lovers
  • Skilled consultants
  • Professional people
  • Retirees
  • Corporate groups
  • Project volunteers
  • Community-minded people who enjoy working with others!
