Celebrating 50 years of service to Queensland

In 2010, Guide Dogs Queensland commemorates its Golden Anniversary. From its humble beginnings in May 1960 the association has grown to be the premier provider of services to Queensland’s blind and vision impaired community, and one of the state’s most respected charities.

Today the association provides the complete range of services from Guide Dog Training to Electronic Mobility Aids. Regional offices have been established on the Gold and Sunshine coasts, Toowoomba, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns. To read more about our services click here.

The association is proud of its 50-year record of delivering services – free of charge – to the Queensland community; and has several events planned throughout the year to celebrate. Keep an eye on our Calendar of Events for the latest dates and details and come join in the fun.

If you are unable to come along to an event you can share in the celebrations online. To find out how you can create your own Hero Page; share your own 50th celebrations; or lend your support to others’ fundraising efforts click here.
