Dog lovers have a ball at OctoberFETCH

More than 100 dog lovers ignored the rain clouds and headed to Pine Rivers Park on Sunday, 1 October, for the inaugural OctoberFETCH Dog-a-thon.

Fortunately the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning.

MC Jo Henderson from 97.3FM and her dog ‘Bob’ did a great job keeping the day rolling along and keeping the crowd entertained.

Special Guest Dr Lisa Chimes from Channel Ten’s Bondi Vet was a crowd favourite, along with K9s on the Catwalk, the Alpenrosen German Folk Dance Group, the Aspley State High School Stage Band and the Shepherd All Stars Demo Squad.

Congratulations to all the winners of the dog competitions, including Waggiest Tail, Best Trick, Most Obedient, Best Dressed and Bavarian Strong Dog. The competition was very tight and Dr Chimes and Guide Dogs Queensland CEO Chris Laine had the tough task of selecting the winners.

A special thanks to Lisa and Jo, and to everyone who supported the event by bringing their canine friends along for a great day.
