Painting of 'Tilly' to be auctioned

Sunshine Coast artist Lyn Donald has presented a painting of Guide Dog 'Tilly' to Guide Dogs Queensland for auction.

Mrs Donald gave the painting to GDQ CEO Chris Laine, who accepted on behalf of GDQ, at a bequest morning tea at the historic restaurant - Harry's of Buderim on 28 July.

The painting took about a week to complete and is based on a photo of 'Tilly' which is featured in the month of August in the GDQ calendar.

The painting will be offered for auction at a future GDQ fundraising event.

Arranged by GDQ Planned Giving Manager Laurel Sheil and Donor Liaison Officer Phil Mead, the morning tea was enjoyed by a group of about 20 bequest donors who live on the Sunshine Coast, with 'Pascoe', 'Pippi' and 'Archie' getting lots of attention in between the chatting.
