Golfing legend to offer advice at charity golf day - September 2010

Amateur golfing enthusiasts will have the rare opportunity to meet a legend of the game at next month’s MBA Partnership Charity Golf Day on the Gold Coast.

Former World Top 10 player Rodger Davis will mentor participants during a complimentary coaching clinic prior to tee-off at the Lakelands Golf Club on Friday, 1 October.

Following the packed afternoon on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Lakelands course, attendees can celebrate with dinner, a prize-giving ceremony and an auction featuring items of celebrity memorabilia.

In its sixth year, the annual golf day is being held in support of Guide Dogs Queensland and the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.

The MBA Partnership, a Gold Coast accounting firm, has a proud record of fundraising for charity, donating more than $130,000 to Guide Dogs Queensland over the last five years.

Guide Dogs Queensland Community Relations Officer Jane Wright said the association, celebrating its 50th year in 2010, was grateful for The MBA Partnership’s continued support.

“We have a proud history of providing services free of charge to Gold Coast residents who are blind or vision impaired,” Ms Wright said.

“Without the generous support of organisations such as The MBA Partnership, we would not be able to continue to provide these services for free. We receive no government funding for our Guide Dogs and less than seven per cent for some specific orientation and mobility services.”
