Pawknock Appeal 2010

On Saturday, 21st February 2010, thousands of volunteers across the state will begin knocking on doors to raise funds for Guide Dogs Queensland’s annual Pawknock Appeal. The Howlands raise funds for GDQ's Pawknock Appeal.

Until 6th March, our doorknockers (pawknockers) will call on neighbours, local businesses, colleagues and friends to collect vital donations for the breeding and training of our puppies and Guide Dogs.

Each Pawknock volunteer is given an official Pawknock Kit with identity tag, maps of your area, receipt books and instructions on how and where to bank donations.  Read more about volunteering for Pawknock.

Pawknock Heroes

As well as our many Pawknock volunteers on foot, we have a growing legion of supporters or ‘Pawknock Heroes’ who seek donations online.

We have again partnered with the secure donation portal, Everyday Hero, which gives supporters the opportunity to build their own “Hero Page” for the Pawknock Appeal or for a wide variety of occasions and events. Click here to join Pawknock’s “Inbox Knock”.

50th Anniversary

As Guide Dogs Queensland celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2010, we hope to make this year’s Appeal our greatest ever and welcome even more wonderful volunteers and generous donations.

From its humble beginnings in May 1960, the association has grown to be the premier provider of services to Queensland’s blind and vision impaired community, and one of the state’s most respected charities.

We receive no government funding for our Guide Dogs Services, raising the funds to continue this service through our Pawknock Appeal, Puppy Sponsorships, bequests and Commercial Operations, such as our Art Union, Wine Club, phone and catalogue sales and Bundaberg Op Shop.

Sorry I Missed You
