You may have heard or seen that we have a new logo/s and corporate colours in-line with other Guide Dogs schools throughout Australia.
Through a collaborative process with all schools in 2013, the decision was made to consolidate the Guide Dogs brand nationally to reflect the rich heritage and story of Guide Dogs in Australia, and to combine resources to increase effectiveness, reduce costs and access critical government funding.
Following closer collaboration with the other schools and increasing competition in the not-for-profit space, as the only state not using the new branding, we made the recent decision to commence the gradual implementation of the new brand.
The new brand is representative of the existing vision and values of Guide Dogs schools across Australia as well as our ongoing evolution and collective journey. The new branding features both a Guide Dog (the dog featured in the logo is actually one of our colony) and the medallion; the dog has been our recognised identity since our inception and the medallion represents the original values of the Guide Dogs associations and our collective roots and heritage.
While the new branding will allow improved access to national opportunities and funding, as well as leverage our individual strengths, we will continue to operate with a local focus and in accordance with our state-based priorities. We do not foresee at any time in the near future we will become one national organisation.
We know our staff, clients and supporters will have questions about the implementation of the new brand and the cost involved in rebranding across our organisation. Please rest assured that as with other Guide Dog schools, we will implement the rebrand incrementally making changes when items need reordering or replacing.
We have created specific brand guidelines around the use of when and where to use the new logo/s, as well as fonts and imagery. A copy of the guidelines is available by contacting the Marketing Department through our main switch on 07 3500 9001.
