At Guide Dogs Queensland, we are dedicated to encouraging the people we work with to not only dream big, but to also bring those dreams to life. By supporting us, you are supporting their future.

As you may be aware, a big change is ahead in the disability sector this year with the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to Queensland.

The NDIS is a great step forward for many Australians living with a permanent disability and we are pleased to see it will help empower our clients to make their own choices on the path to achieving their goals. You can read more about how the NDIS will work here.

Our preparations are well underway to ensure Guide Dogs is not only a recognised service provider under the scheme, but the service provider of choice for blind and vision impaired Queenslanders, with the widest range of services available to everyone, regardless of their location across the state.

While many of our clients won’t be eligible for NDIS assistance, with the continued support of the community we can ensure that all Queenslanders with low or no vision continue to receive the services they need to have the mobility, confidence and independence to live their lives to the full.

Together, we can change lives.

  1. Hello Dan, I haven’t been a volunteer for over 6 months, I miss it but would like to come back. Are you available on Thursday to see me. I know a lot of the long time volunteers have left because of the same reason I left. No it is not the NDSS. My mobile is 0410695343. Thank you.
