The life of a Guide Dog wasn’t for ‘Cass’, but she’s found a different way to change lives instead.

‘Cass’ was recently adopted by an aged care facility at Helensvale, where she now works as a Facility Dog. This means she provides companionship and affection for those who live in the facility, as well as their family and friends who come and visit.

‘Cass’ has already brought many smiles to the faces of all the residents. It’s lovely to see how they have opened their arms to her and she has already become part of the family.

Like ‘Cass’, not all dogs are destined to become Guide Dogs. Some of our dogs demonstrate traits and skills that our trainers believe will be better used in a different working role.

We provide Companion and Facility Dogs to assist individuals with specific health-related conditions who may benefit from interaction with a dog. If you live within a 90 minute radius of our facility at Bald Hills and would like more information on this program, please contact us on 3500 9001 and speak to Nicci Cahill.
