It’s National Volunteer Week (11-17 May) and we’re celebrating the efforts of all our wonderful volunteers across the state.
Morning Tea events are being held in our regions to recognise the dedication and generosity of the volunteers who offer their time to Guide Dogs Queensland in many different ways – whether it be raising one of our adorable pups or caring for one of our colony; helping at fundraising events or stalls; or even lending a hand in the office. All up, our dedicated volunteers provide over 10,000 hours of their time to Guide Dogs Queensland each week – we simply couldn’t function without them!
One of the volunteers being recognised at a Morning Tea this week is Margaret Schulte.
Margaret has been volunteering her time in the warehouse at our Bundaberg Op Shop for the past 11 years, where she sorts, prices and mends all of our donated linen and craft items.
Margaret is well known for going above and beyond in the time she gives. She is often seen taking items home to mend, sort and wash and is never without a lovely smile on her face!
We sincerely thank Margaret and all of our volunteers for the time and commitment they have shown to Guide Dogs Queensland.
