Guide Dogs Harness

Guide Dogs Queensland requires families to care for our dogs in their homes on a short-term basis.

Ideally, candidates must live no further than 20 minutes from our breeding and training centre at Bald Hills.

We welcome applications from candidates elsewhere in the Brisbane area but they must be able to collect boarding dogs from Bald Hills and return them to the same site when requested.

Children living with the dogs must be over five years old, the home should have a secure fenced yard (with a minimum fence height of 1.2 metres) and the dogs must be able to live and sleep inside the home.

Ideally, someone will be at home most of the time but this can be flexible depending on the specific situation. For example, families who live very close to our Bald Hills site can drop off /pick up boarding dogs on their way to and from work each day.
