Would you dare to take part in an exciting sensory experience that CANNOT be seen to be believed?

Dining in the Dark challenges guests to eat under blindfold, using only touch, taste and smell to experience a new way of enjoying the food and entertainment on offer.

CEO Dan English said the fun event provides guests with an important “insight” into what life is like for someone who is blind or vision impaired, while raising valuable funds for our services.

“This is a really fun event for people to be involved in that has the added benefit of building understanding towards the challenges that blind and vision impaired Queenslanders face every day,” Mr English said.

“We often take our sight for granted and it really is a challenge to work out what to do when your vision is suddenly taken away.  Just the simple task of finding your mouth with your fork or even knowing how big a piece of steak you’ve just cut is so much harder.

“There are a few close calls and plenty of laughs, so I’d encourage everyone to come along and be involved in a truly magnificent night.  It’s an easy way to show your support and help us raise the funds we need to meet the growing demand for our free services in the community.”

The gala dinners will be held at:

  • The Ipswich Show Grounds on 22 October
  • Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport on 29 October

Tickets are $150 each or corporate tables of 10 are also available. Book your tickets today by calling Aileen McGregor-Lowndes on 0457 413 046 or email [email protected]
