Helping Ray Find His Way

The team at Guide Dogs were so grateful to recently share this special occasion with Guide Dogs Client, Ray. It was quite the birthday party complete with handmade signs and ice-cream cake.

However, this occasion was extra special as it also marked the acceptance of Ray onto the Guide Dog waiting list. This was fantastic news as it meant Ray was one step closer to receiving a life-changing Guide Dog.

“It felt like I had been invited to join a lovely new family,” said Ray.

Ray recently lost his wife to a devastating long-term illness, so having Guide Dogs by his side to help him every step of the way was something that meant the world to him.

Ray is so thankful to everyone who has helped him get to this stage in his journey. Sometimes it takes that extra companion in life to help you find your way. Someone who’ll walk – or work – by your side. Who understands the challenges you might have on the road ahead and is on-hand to help you navigate your way through them.

Guide Dogs has given Ray a new lease on life and something to look forward to when he wakes up each morning. We can’t wait to continue celebrating more of these wonderful milestones with Ray and seeing all he achieves in this next stage of his life.
