Last month we were very excited to celebrate the progression of our young dogs from the ‘M’, ‘N’ and ‘Q’ litters into training.
Our Puppy Progression Parties mark the occasion of our young 12-15 month old dogs leaving their Puppy Raisers and returning to the training centre to continue on their path towards becoming a Guide Dog.
One of the dogs being recognised at the party was ‘Mason’, who was written about in a touching poem by a young girl from the Puppy Raiser family that looked after him. You can read her poem about ‘Mason’ here.
Puppy Raisers look after our pups for the first 12 months of their life. While it can be sad to say goodbye, it is incredibly rewarding for Puppy Raisers to see their young dog enter Guide Dog training and go on to change the life of a Queenslander with low or no vision.
