Vulcan

virtue‘Virtue’

‘Virtue’ is an extremely confident young dog and is very eager to learn. She thrives on being trained and taught new commands. Like her litter-mate ‘Vulcan’, ‘Virtue’ is very good at ignoring other animals, especially cats. She is also at ease in busy places such as shopping centres and department stores where she always listens to commands and waits patiently by the checkout when her Raiser goes to pay. ‘Virtue’s’ Raiser will proudly return her this month to enter formal training.

At 11 months old ‘Vision’ is always ready to get in her coat and go out and about for a day of learning. In fact, it’s hard to choose a training milestone for ‘Vision’ since her last update because she just takes everything in her stride. ‘Vision’s’ cheeky little face will be missed in her Raiser’s home when she returns for formal Guide Dog training this month. She will also be dearly missed by her playmate, and Guide Dogs Queensland Brood, ‘Nellie.’

vulcan‘Vulcan’

‘Vulcan’ has improved in leaps and bounds in the last few months and has become a mature, relaxed and confident dog. When out training, his strength lies in his ability to ignore everything from dogs to running children. ‘Vulcan’ has made quite a name for himself in the local area as one of Guide Dogs Queensland’s “pin-up” dogs – he featured in three images from GDQ’s 2013 Calendar, on last year’s ‘Labrador Love’ Golden Casket Scratchies, and, most recently, in a story about Puppy Raising on ‘The Great South East.’

‘Valentine’

‘Valentine’ has been withdrawn from the Guide Dog Training Program and will be rehomed as a pet with a loving family.
